Tallinn Children and Youth Support Program

This is a 3-month support program for children and youth aged 7–21, referred by a child welfare specialist. Each year, up to 3 program cycles are held, serving a total of up to 45 children.
 

Target Groups:

  • Children whose parents struggle with coping, leading to truancy or wandering
  • Failure to fulfill school obligations
  • Substance use

Program Goals:

  • Reduce risky behavior among youth
  • Support children and their families in developing better coping skills
  • Empower and assist in fulfilling school responsibilities

Program Content:

  • Case assessment and creation of a support plan
  • Individual and family counseling by psychologists and social workers
  • Learning support
  • Collaboration with support networks
  • Mid-term evaluation of progress

Team:

The program is run by a multidisciplinary team including: Psychologists
Social pedagogues and workers, Special education teacher, Medical staff, 
Psychiatric consultation via partner PERH Psychiatric Clinic, Support person service available on-site or via Tallinn Family Centre
