The Parent and Child Shelter is intended for parents with children who have experienced physical, emotional, or sexual abuse, or who need temporary housing and assistance with daily life due to other emergency circumstances. See more on the City of Tallinn’s website.

The Parent and Child Shelter provides services 24/7. The shelter has 6 private family rooms, an open-plan kitchen-living room equipped with appliances, a play area for children, and necessary washing facilities.

Families in crisis are provided with initial emergency assistance. Once a week, families have the opportunity to receive psychological counseling.

A social worker supports families on a daily basis and collaborates with a child welfare specialist, child protection specialist, or other staff from the social department to ensure the best possible support and a sense of security for families.

The shelter is located in an area of environmental value, with a children’s playground nearby.

The shelter service is needs-based. The first month is free, and from the second month, the daily cost is €1.40.
